Leader of the Opposition Shehbaz Sharif will preside over his first Public Accounts Committee (PAC) session today as chairman, Express News reported on Friday.
The session is expected to focus on various matters of importance and the committee will be briefed on the rules and regulations during its first session. A briefing will also be given on the current power crisis in the country by the power division.

The session shall continue till January 1.
Shehbaz was confirmed as the chairman of the parliamentary body on December 22, after months of debate between the ruling party and the Pakistan Muslim League-N.
The PAC, as an apex parliamentary body, oversees the government’s audit of revenue and expenditure.
Shehbaz Sharif arrest: Opposition submits requisition for NA meeting
The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the PML-N had signed a charter of democracy in 2006 where both the parties had agreed to give the PAC chairmanship to the opposition leader. Shehbaz Sharif assured the house that he would make sure that the conflict of interest question does not arise.
